New Developments Under Way
Oro Valley
- 2007 Oro Valley Marketplace. 860,000 square feet. Located at the Southwest corner of Tangerine and North Oracle roads. The 114-acre shopping center will break ground in March 2007 and should open approximately 20 months later. Proponents of the development say that it will help the town by bringing in large amounts of retail-sales-tax revenue. Included will be a 12 screen movie theatre by Cinemark USA, Dick's Sporting Goods, Best Buy, Cost Plus World Market, The Keg Steakhouse & Bar, Olive Garden Italian Restaurant, Linens and Things, Petco, Chase Bank, Danny's Family Car Wash and other new businesses.
- 2006 Oracle Crossings. 250,000 square feet. Includes Sproutz Farmers Market, Peter Piper Pizza, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Kohl's, Razmataz Furniture, Sedona Patio, Shoe Pavillion. Located at North Oracle and West Magee roads.
- 2007 Mercado del Rio. 175,000 square feet. Includes Imagen Salon and Day Spa, Mike and Ollie's Chop House, Arizona Car Care. Located at Pusch View Lane.
- 2007 Steam Pump Village. 400,000 square feet. Includes Baggin's, Steinway Piano Gallery, California Design Center, Chili's, and much more. A business-oriented hotel, the 100-room Wingate Inn will also be built at the Steam Pump Village location. As part of the second phase, the three-story, 67,000 square-foot hotel should be completed at the end of the year.
- Naranja Town Site Plan. This expansive proposed project is slated to include an aquatic center, tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball, softball and soccer fields, dog parks, BMX, skate and skateboarding facilities, playgrounds, workout center, gymnasium, climbing wall, dance studios and a music pavillion. - 2008 Vistoso Resort and Spa slated to be built in Rancho Vistoso will feature 220 condo units and 440 hotel rooms and is scheduled to break ground in September, 2007. Located near the 18th hole of the Golf Club at Vistoso. The condo units will be offered for sale and will also include a rental program.
